Gold & two-tone automatic watches: what you need to know

Gold sits differently on different skin tones: yellow warms up deeper complexions, rose softens fair skin, and steel-and-gold two-tone stays the most versatile because it matches the jewellery you already wear. Our finishes are obtained by PVD plating on 316L steel, a treatment far more resistant than classic gilding: it does not flake at the first knock of the bracelet.

Frequently asked questions

Can the gold on the watch wear off?
The PVD plating used on our gold cases is a vacuum deposit, much harder than galvanic gilding. With normal daily wear, the shade holds for years. Simply avoid chlorinated products and prolonged contact with perfume.
Yellow gold, rose gold or two-tone: which one?
Steel-and-gold two-tone is the easiest to wear day to day and with a suit. Full yellow gold is bolder, to be kept for those who like their watch to be noticed. Rose gold is the most discreet of the three and works very well on fair skin.
Are these watches suitable for women?
Yes, especially the 36 mm cases. Gold and rose gold finishes are the most requested in these diameters.
Is this a counterfeit?
No. No Modora watch carries the logo or name of another brand: these are homage watches in their own right, sold under our own name, with a genuine Seiko movement. Counterfeiting (fake logos) is illegal; homage watches are legal.
