The rule is simple: measure your wrist with a tailor's tape. Below 16 cm, a 36 mm case sits perfectly and never overhangs the wrist bones. Between 16 and 17.5 cm, 36 mm remains very wearable, with a deliberately classic and discreet look. Above that, you generally move up to 39 or 41 mm. The 36 mm has been making a strong comeback for several years, men included: after a decade of very large cases, reasonable proportions are once again the mark of good taste.
