The movement: automatic, and preferably a Seiko calibre that any Swiss watchmaker can regulate. The crystal: sapphire, otherwise the watch scratches within weeks. The case and bracelet: 316L steel with solid links, no hollow links or plating. Only then come style and size. For a wrist over 17 cm, 41 mm has the presence expected of a men's watch; below that, 39 or 36 mm sits better and looks more elegant.
